Helping America reach net-zero
Net-Zero USA is a free energy incentive calculator. We pull together state rebates, utility programs, and federal-and-local clean energy incentives into one place so you can see what you actually qualify for, in about a minute. The clean energy transition should be simple to navigate. Most of the time, it isn't.
Why we built Net-Zero USA
The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 was the largest clean energy investment in American history, roughly $370 billion in tax credits, rebates, and incentive programs covering solar, heat pumps, EV chargers, batteries, and weatherization. Most homeowners had no idea what they qualified for. The 2025 One Big Beautiful Bill Act then rolled back the federal solar and EV credits for new installations, while leaving most state and utility programs intact. The picture got more complicated, not less.
Programs vary by state, by income, by utility provider, and by the kind of equipment you're installing. Federal credits interact with state rebates and local utility incentives in ways that aren't obvious. HEEHRA rollouts move at different speeds across different states. The confusion has a real cost: billions of dollars in incentives go unclaimed every year because the people they were designed for never find out about them.
We built Net-Zero USA to make that easier. The calculator cross-references data from Rewiring America, OpenEI (U.S. Department of Energy), and EnergySage to produce a personalized breakdown of every incentive you can stack. It's free. There's no sign-up. We don't sell your information.
What we care about
Four things shape how we build the calculator and decide what to publish.
Open to everyone
Knowing what clean energy incentives you qualify for shouldn't depend on income, location, or how comfortable you are reading utility tariffs. Our calculator is free and stays free.
Real data, not guesswork
Estimates pull from OpenEI utility rate databases, Rewiring America incentive program data, EnergySage solar pricing, and current IRS and Treasury guidance. When sources disagree, we say so.
Fast, with no sales pressure
No sign-ups, no sales calls, no hidden agendas. Enter your ZIP, answer four questions, and get a complete incentive breakdown in roughly a minute.
A push toward net-zero
Every solar install, every heat pump, and every EV charger running on clean power moves the country a little closer to net-zero. We exist to make that easier to find your way into.
Where our data comes from
These are the databases and primary sources we pull from. When they conflict, we say so on the page rather than picking one quietly.
Rewiring America
Federal and state incentive program data including IRA tax credits, HEEHRA rebates, and state-specific clean energy programs.
OpenEI (DOE)
U.S. Department of Energy utility rate databases for accurate electricity cost comparisons and solar ROI calculations.
EnergySage
Real-time solar panel pricing, installer ratings, and market data for accurate installation cost estimates by city and state.
IRS & U.S. Treasury
Official federal clean energy credit guidance. Note: The 30% solar ITC (Section 25D) and home improvement credits (Section 25C) expired Dec 31, 2025 per the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
What we cover
The calculator looks for incentives you can stack across these clean energy upgrades.
See what you qualify for
The calculator is free, takes about a minute, and doesn't require an account. If you have a ZIP code and a few minutes, you have enough to see what state rebates and clean energy programs apply to your home.
